A: 내일이 회사 휴일인 거 아시나요?
B: 왜죠?
A: 내일이 회사 창립 5주년 기념일이기 때문이에요.
B: 마치 어제 일인 것 같네요.

과거의 사건이나 일에 대해 마치 어제 일인 것 같습니다 라는 표현으로 remember it as though it were yesterday 라는 표현을 사용할 수 있습니다. 비슷한 표현으로는 It seems like only yesterday. 바로 어제 있었던 일만 같다. 도 사용할 수 있습니다. Yesterday 는 어제라는 표현으로 주로 사용되지만 이와 같이 얼마 지나지 않은 일, 요즈음에 라는 표현으로도 사용됩니다. I wasn´t born yesterday. 라고 하면 난 철부지가 아닙니다 라는 표현이 됩니다.
